GROVE CONSERVATION AREA II
This is one of those projects where the initial brief turns into something completely different, to the great surprise our clients.
When first contacted by the clients, we were asked to design a ground floor extension and reorganise the first floor. Most importantly, we were to somehow enlarge the existing master bedroom within the existing space. The house location and configuration allowed us the opportunity to propose an extension that increases the first-floor area and could accommodate a master bedroom our clients would love. This is also when we came up with the idea of a big corner window on both the ground and first floors.
The property has a very generous and beautiful south-facing garden, serving as our inspiration. As a result, we opened up the space to draw in views and sunlight as well as create spacious and airy rooms. Despite being in a conservation area, we achieved a whole new and modern look for this 1930's semi-detached house.
